The Falconer Public Library hosted a fire safety-themed Story Hour in honor of National Fire Prevention Week on Oct. 6. Children in attendance were surprised by a few special guest volunteer firefighters from the Falconer Fire Department who generously brought an ambulance and firetruck for the children to see. Katie Delahoy read “Pete the Cat: Firefighter Pete,” by James Dean and discussed important safety tips. Mike Roman put on his turnout gear for the children to show that “firefighters are your friends.” Children were left inspired while later pretending to be firefighters with little red plastic helmets and paper towel tube fire hoses.
