The three and four year old Story Hour classes have been enjoying many fun themes each Wednesday morning. "Cardboard Box Day" was the theme of a recent Story Hour class. Story Hour Director Ashley Nelson created a castle for the children out of cardboard. She read Not a Box by Antoinette Portis and Christina Katerina and the Box by Patricia Lee Gauch. The children decorated the walls of the castle with beautiful hand drawn pictures. They made binoculars from cardboard tubes, and while looking through them, found a fire breathing dragon in the library! They used their imaginations and several props made from cardboard to put out his flames. The children also enjoyed a snack with their new dragon friend!
